Gozques Sanctuary

1st phase is complete. Thanks to Coca Cola and Nokia, Gozques has been able to purchase a 4 acre land in La Guajira, Colombia to build the sanctuary. This will be a Sanctuary in every sense of the word, a sacred place of love located actually in the sacred land of La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, that will be not only be for homeless dogs but for all of the animals that have been abused or caught by illegal wild life trade. We have been able to protect the diverse nature in this area by planting more than 400 cocoa plants and 300 more plants of fruits and native trees. This place will also be intended for humans, to be able connect with the magic nature has to offer.

Colombia is #1 in the world for its diversity of birds and sadly is a main source of trafficking. Most of the wild animals that have been captured cannot be set free because they wouldn’t be able to survive. This is the main reason why Gozques is planning to construct an enormous aviary where they can fly with dignity but also be protected.

But the journey is far from complete…

Gozques is looking to raise $ 400,000 USD in funds to construct:

8 ecological cabins, that would serve as short term rentals from Air BnB
Invest generated revenue to to take care of the animals and the land.
Build the aviary for the protection of birds and wildlife
Employ people to maintain the land and serve guests booked with Air BnB

Finally, our mission continues nevertheless to feed homeless dogs using food dispensers located throughout Colombia and to expand this mission by adding more dispensers throughout rural and urban locations.
